Interesting. My dad was John Pavlik born in November of 1907 in Pittsburgh. He was in an orphanage for a number of years when his mother ( my grandmother Anna Gnip ) had to go back to Slovakia. Don't know much more than this. When she came back she married a Mike Pavlik. My dad got this name from Mike adopting him. My dad's biological father's name may have been Mareno ( Slovak guy )or some othere spelling Marano? Morano? Mirano?
No one knows for sure.
