Hi Freda,

According to the "Pavey Family of Ohio" manuscript, Jesse Pavey, Jr. was a son of Jesse Pavey & wife, Sarah N. "Sally" Safford (Stafford.) He was b: July 12, 1806, Bourbon Co, KY and migrated with his parents to Highland Co, OH 1809. He married MRS. Magdalene BAINTER (d: Aug. 20, 1887) on July 24, 1834. Their daughter, Susan Marie b: Jan. 9, 1838, d: March 11, 1885.

The Jesse Pavey who is said to have been married to Catherine Tolbird (don't believe there's ever been any documentation on this marriage) was probably the son of Samuel Pavey II, who we believe to be Jesse's (half?) brother. Jesse & Catharine moved to MO. One of their sons, Napoleon, was good friends with Samuel Clements (Mark Twain.)
