Karly,
Great to hear from you!
Before I forget, e-mail me in private at [email protected] , and I will send you everything I have.
I found out the original name of our gg-grandfather (we're exactly 3rd cousins) was Christ Deischer. His first name pronounced "KREEST" - a very common German name back then. The name "Christian Discher" is Americanized. Also, Ingerburg's last name was Paulsen, which is the typical Danish and Norwegian spelling.Ingerburg was probably Danish, while Christ was undoubtedly German. Both were from the Schleswig-Holstein region, you're right. That region had a large number of both Germans and Danish, and intermarriage was probably quite common. Our family history says that they were from Kiel, but I have not confirmed this yet.
We can correspond more after you e-mail me.
