I am replying because my Paulsen line came from Denmark (thru Germany) in 1890's. We have a Martin Poulsen born 8/22/1883 came to the US w/mother in 1891. Died 4/4/1957 in California, U.S. His wife was Jennie Christiana so may not be your man. His parents were Niels Peter Poulsen and Martea Martine Hansen.

He has an Uncle Martin Poulsen born 2/6/1860 born in Staun, Farstrup Parish, Denmark. This martin, per my info, was never married and died at 30 yrs old. in Staun. His parents were Poul Enevold Nielsen and Ane Kathrine Nielsdaughter.

Sound familier to your line?
