Dear Karyl, Most library's should have a genology department in them. You should be able to find all kinds of index books for different states including Mass. Another good place to check is the Church of the Latter Day Saints. The Mormans put a lot of stock in their family history and have baptisms for the dead, so their genology dept. is very large, all kinds of micro-film ect. This William Paull in this posting was born in the 1600's. From what you have said, your line doesn't seem to have been here that long. Are you sure your Grandfather was the first here? Also you can post inquiries on the Scotland page of this Gen-forum, perhaps you can get a lead that way. Also you can go to a search engine on the internet like (www.dogpile.com), and enter the location, I usually use the county and state, like Tarrant County, Texas Genology, you will get a list of places to click on, and you can find their web page, sometimes you can find some good stuff that way. Let me know how it goes......Happy Hunting.....let me hear from you. Mary Paul Barrett
