Found: EBER PAULK b. Dec 1829 Troy, Athens Co. , Ohio

On 1850 Troy, Athens Co., Ohio census there was an "Eber" (20) living with Benjamin Paugh b. 1810 and Miranda (Paulk)Paugh b. 1819.

On 1860 Troy, Athens Co., Ohio census there was an "Eber" (30) living with John B. Casley (1836) and Elizabeth Ann (Paugh)Casley (1836).

Miranda Paulk Paugh was daughter of Xerxes Paulk, Jr. and Miranda (Barrows) Paulk b. abt. 1819. Miranda had a sister, Emily b. abt. 1821 who was second wife of Thomas Richardson. Emily's first husband was Milton Beebe. Thomas Richardson's mother was Vashti Paulk m. to Abraham Richardson.

I have concluded that Xerxes Paulk Jr. from his second marriage to Elizabeth Bates in 1822 had THREE sons: "Sylvanus" Venus Columbus Paulk b. 1822, Paul Paulk b. 1823 and VOLNEY E. PAULK b. Dec. 1829. There might have been children born between 1823 and 1829. Who knows?

Volney E. Paulk m. Rebecca W. McCullough in Oct. 1867 in Marion Co. Missouri. I couldn't find any children for them. Besides Missouri they lived in Mena, Polk Co., Arkansas. Volney probably died aft. 1900 in Mena, Arkansas and Rebecca probably died after 1920 in Cleveland Twp., Miller Co. Arkansas. She was living with a Smith Family and she was noted as "aunt" to them.

My interest in the Paulk family derives from the fact that my great grandmother was Elizabeth Paugh Casley and her mother was Miranda Paulk Paugh and her mother was Miranda Barrows m. to Xerxes Paulk, Jr.

There seems to be confusion between Eber Forest Paulk b. 1849 and Volney E. (Eber) Paulk born 1829.
