Byron:
Regarding your query about marriages of Rebecca McNeil, in summary, the following marriage records are found:

JOHN MCNEAL to REBECCA GRIFFITH       8/5/1805, Franklin Co.
WILLIAM KINNISON to REBECCA McNEAL 7/26/1835, Giles Co.
JOHN MCNEEL to REBECCA MCNIEL 9/3/1811,       Bath Co.

It appears that the Rebecca who married William Kinnison in 1835 is a different Rebecca from the one who married John McNeal in 1805, since the latter family is found in the 1840 census of Pocahontas County (this John is called "big". There is a female age 50-60 in the household, presumably wife Rebecca (McNeal) McNeal.
The other John is called "little" and he and presumed wife Rebecca Griffith McNeal are also in the 1840 Pocahontas census. Note McNeal/McNeill etc. various spellings are used more or less indiscriminately.

Regards, Maynard McNeil
