There are two Paul families in Sorel, PQ, Canada. Most of the individuals belong to a french canadian family which has no native connection that I have been able to identify. This family's roots in Sorel go back quite a way, easily prior to 1700, and the original ancestors can all be traced back to France using the classic french canadian genealogy sources. The family is described in a book about Sorel written about 1924.
This family used many dit names including Hus, Huspaul, Paulhus, Husconoyer, etc. This family is huge as the original ancestors had fourteen children around 1700 each of whom seems to have had an similarly large family.
