I, too, heard from my Grandma, Marion Scoular PAUL ALEXANDER that we were related to JPJ. I have found several sources that refer to his family history, not just his
historical history. I have documentation of my Grandma's parents marriage in Scotland in 1857, listing Marion's Grandparents'names asJohn PAUL(not THE John PAUL) and Agnes BLACK, although on the Death Cert.of Marion's brother, George, their Mother's name is shown as Helen MUIR. So, my John PAUL must have been born about 1837, let's say. JPJ died in 1792, I believe, so there is this 40+ year gap I'd like to fill in. From what I've read, JPJ was one of 5 children: William, Elizabeth, Janet, Mary Ann, and "Johnny", as he is referred to in one of the sources. If you like, I'd be very happy to share what(little!)I know. Please RSVP. I can send stuff by mail, or whatever. I just got the computer hooked up, but not the scanner yet! P.S.--I think William is the only one who ended up in the US.He was a tailor in Virginia, I think. I'm not so sure JPJ ever married, but I have read that he did have at least one child, perhaps illigetimate, by a French or Spanish woman. I, too, would like to know the full story on this, and either put it to rest or document it! Let's keep in [email protected]
