I think we are talking about different Jesses. The one I am talking about was born before 1808.He served in the Revolution in North Carolina. He supposedly married Frances Smith in North Carolina. He served in the Revolution as a North Carolina recruit. It's his descendants that went to Cabell and Wayne counties. This Jesse is supposed to be a brother to John born 1746 who married Sarah Paul.
I have John Sires Sr. born before 1700, died 1779 in Fauquier, married to a Mary (possibly Chapman?).
Thenchildren:
1.James Sires Sr., born before 1730, died by 1781, married Alice, went to North Carolina, had sons John who married Sarah Paul; James died 1810; Enoch; Jesse; Alexander, William.
2. John Sires Jr. born before 1730, appraised William Wyatt's estate in July 1765.It appears he remained in Fauquier Co.
3. Mary who married Benjamin Hamrick. Some of her line ended up in Braxton Co.In fact, strangely,I found a marriage record for her there dated 1742."Mary Sias married Patrick Benjamin Hamrick"But I found a marriage record in Fauquier for a Mary Hamrick, daughter of Benjamin, marrying Clayton Smith on 14 July 1778.She had a brother William.
I have as children for John and Sarah Paul Siars:Rhoda married Moses Mann; Isaac married Peggy Cumming; Joseph; James married Francinea Roach; Jane married David Parsons.
That identifies Isaac of Putnam County, but leaves me with James and Elijah. My James, born about 1780-90, appears to be in Kanawha County in 1810 with an older female, age 26 to 44 (could be wife or mother). He is listed as being between 15 and 25.There is another male with him of the same age, and I think it could be Elijah. Also, there is another male to age 10, which might be William.
I am just trying to find where these Elijah and James fit into the cyrus family. If you have any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
