Robeson / Coffee - William Isham PAUL m. Elizabeth Brazael
Hello all the Robeson NC / Coffee AL PAUL researchers:
I stumbled across a post on here listing the children of William Isham PAUL, son of Abraham, and it cited that George William PAUL was one of the children.
Supposedly William Isham married Elizabeth Brazael, but Elizabeth supposedly died in 1820.William died in 1829.
My great great grandfather was George William PAUL b. abt. 1828 in Alabama according to later census reports.Did William Isham have another wife or girlfriend to have had another child? He died the year after my George William was born, so perhaps he was reared by an older sibling.
He first appears in Dallas County 1850 with a Mary L Paul, William A. 2 months old, and a Mary that is 2 years old both of which are born in TX.I have reason to believe that this Mary L was not his wife, and she was one year younger than he.Maybe his cousin???
George was married in Dallas in 1857, and his first son was named William Albert PAUL.His wife's first name was ironically Mary as well. But two totally different Mary's and William's.
I wonder if you all may have any data that shows George moving with some of his older siblings or half siblings from Alabama to Mississippi, to Texas.I suspect he was in Mississippi between 1840-1848.
PS....anyone have any luck with the DNA project for these South / North Carolina PAUL families?
Thanks,
Eric C. Paul
