Mary Paul married to William Anderson, NYC?
Greetings everyone,
My maternal grandfather john kirkpatrick Jr. was an avid genealogist who compiled a lot of infomation which is now at YALE in the Gilmore Music library. there are some genealogical photos that relate to the info I will present below.

According to his records we are descended from Thomas kirkpatrick who was born at Ringford on Feb 14th 1834. He died on Dec. 27th 1906 in NYC. It is my understanding that Thomas started the firm of Thomas kirkpatrick & Sons Jewelers in NYC, one of the first such firms in Manhattan.
Thomas married Mary Paul MORRISON, born in NYC on Sept 15th 1833, died there on Oct 2nd 1922. We have a wonderful painting of her in my family's possession. Mary's father was David Morrison, born 11-26-1803 in Lanark, died 1-6- 1891 in NYC. Mary's mother was Jean Anderson, born Kitmarnock (sp?) 1-28-1806, died 11-21-1853 in NYC.
David Morrison's parents were William Morrison and Jean Steele. We have no dates or any info for them. Jean Anderson's parents were William Anderson, born 1766-1843, married to Mary Paul 1770-1849. Mary Paul is rumored to be a cousin of Admiral John Paul Jones. We only know that Mary Paul's parents were John Paul and Jean Niven. that is as far back as we have info for that line.
Back to Thomas Kirkpatrick and Mary Paul Morrison- they had a son named John Kirkpatrick, born Feb 14th 1859, died in NYC on Aug 4th 1928. John had a sister named Jean. John's son was John Kirkpatrick Jr., my maternal grandfather. He had another son named Thomas, who continued to run the jewelry business until it closed.
thanks
