Hi Jan,
Mary Louise Deal was my g-grandmother. She married Silas Andrew White. Mary's mother and father were Elizabeth Bishop and Stephen Deal.
Mary had a sister named Delia. I think Delia may have been married to a STEFFENSEN/STEFFENSON and a WILLIAMS.
Silas and Mary are buried in the Glendale, Michigan cemetery in the northeast corner.
Fidelia Deal is buried in the northwest corner.
Buried near Fidelia are James Deal and Delia and some other family members.
Next to Delia's marker are two markers for STEFFENSON. I believe one is Rosa and the other is Hulbert. In one of the census's for Paw Paw, Michigan there are two STEFFENSON's with Delia, one named Mary and the other Silas. This would make sense that Delia named her children after her sister and brother-in-law. What I can't figure out is who ROSA and HULBERT STEFFENSON are.
Silas and Mary lived across the street from where I lived in Paw Paw in the 60's. I think that in the 20's and 30's Delia lived next door on the adjacent street. There is still a Deal living in what I think was Delias house but he won't give me any information on the family. Bummer. He would be one of our cousins.
I would like to find out more about Delia and her family if possible.
A family photo shows a family picture of two parents and 4 kids. Caption reads Delia Williams niece Vivian and family. I think James Deal married Florence Carr and I think they may have had a daughter named Vivian.
I haven't seen any information on Mary Louise Deal and I don't think anybody knew that she was Stephen and Elizabeth's daughter.
Would be very interested in sharing info when you have the time.
thanks
Tim White
