Scots-Irish/Black Dutch PAULs SC>NC>AL>MS>TX>OK 1830-1900
Our family of Paul's have always been told that we were Black Dutch and Scots Irish. It begins with the birth of George William PAUL born either in MS or AL abt. 1827 to unknown father born in SC, and unknown mother born in NC according to some conflicting census information.
About 1850-1855, George shows up near Lancaster, Dallas County, Texas married to Mary Barsheba Campbell. They begin to have the first of their children near Lancaster, but later move to Bosque County, TX just after the Civil War, where they had the remainder of their kids:
Janeb. 1856
William Albertb. 1857(m. MAC Mordis; d. Duncan, IT)
Lucinda Bessieb. 1859(m. Hardy; d. TX) Ellen?
Orpha Callieb. 1862(m. Beard/Oliver; d. Duncan, IT)
Thomas Marionb. 1864(m. Sandifer/Craven; d. Kaufman)
Edney (Edna)B.b. 1866(m. Clark; d. Duncan, IT)
Mary Emily (Emma) b. 1867(m. Jackson/Casey; d. Oklahoma)
John C.b. 1870(m. Lizzie ?; d. Post, TX
Mattieb. 1872(m. E.J. Jones; d. unknown TX)
George E.b. 1875(m. Looney; d. Duncan, IT)
Abery Harrisonb. 1877(m. Carrie; d. Duncan, IT)
By 1894, George dies presumably in or near Dallas Co., TX.All of the male children, and some of the female children are living in and around Stephens Co., OK.Presumably, the remainder of the female children stayed in TX with their spouses. Two of the children, Thomas Marion, and John C. make their way back to Texas between 1900-1905.
If any are descendants of the above, or perhaps have ancestors that migrated to TX or OK through MS and AL, and have been told that you are of Black Dutch descent, I would sure enjoy researching with you via email.
Thanks,
Eric C. Paul
