The mystery of Levin Paul of Maryland
Levin Paul was born in 1816. He married Mary A. Lord in 1842 and they had five childern: Marie,Isiah, William, Nancy Amelia, and Joseph. Our family has always said he disappeared and that no one know's what happened to him.
I recently found him in the Union Army (1st Regiment, Maryland Eastern Shore Infantry). He does not show up in the lists of Regimental Dead and wounded nor does he show up in any of the lists of prisoners of war. He is listed as also being called Leoni Paul in the regimental muster.
I'm working on the assumption that he survived the war but did not come home. He would have been 49 years old in 1865.
Has anyone came across him or have him in their family tree.
I don't know his parents and only know that he was born in Maryland.
Hoping for help with my mystery
