Know all men by those present that I Elizabeth Paul of Orange county state of NC for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear to my son James Paul of Washington Co. in the state of Georgia and also for the consideration of the sum of one shilling current money at the said state of NC have given and granted, bargained and sold and by those persons present do then give, grant and bargain and sell unto my said son James Paul one certain negro boy named Peter about 14 years of age to have and to hold the said negro boy Peters unto the said James Paul, his heirs and assign reserving never the less the possession and use of the said negro boy Peter to me the said negro boy to me the said Elizabeth Paul for and during the term of my natural life. In witness whereof I have put this my seal the 30th day of Nov. 1789.

The contents of the will of Elizabeth Paul deceased by Frances Williamson and Samuel McCracken as follows: Viz
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Reddin my old mare and saddle to her and her heirs forever, to my grandaughter Elizabeth Carrington five poinds to her and her heirs forever and I likewise leave and bequeath to my grandson William Reddin twenty pounds to him and his heirs forever. I leave and bequeath to my grandaughter Elizabeth Gray one feather bed, boolster and pillows with two.....sheets one pair of blankets, one coverlet,with adition at a counter pin stamped. I likewise leave and bequeath to my grandson James (Gray?) (Did I misstype?) Paul twenty poinds to him and his heirs forever. I likewise bequeath to my grandaughter Elizabeth Paul one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. I likewise leave and bequeth to my two daughters Margaret and Elizabeth all my pewter equally to be divided between to their heirs forever. The Witnesses say upon their oath that Enoc Robert ___ is appointed executor to the last will of Elizabeth Paul. Attest Ab. B. Bruce.

The exec. of the last will and testament of Elizabeth Paul decased was
duly proved in open court by the oaths of Frances Wilkinson and Samuel McCracken and on motion ordered to be recorded.
