John Paul is the son of Michael Paul, a native of Holland, and Ann Parker of Germantown, Pa. Ann was a cousin of Rev. Samuel Smith, President of what later became Princeton University. John was born in Germantown, Pa. Nov. 12, 1758 and died June 6, 1830 in Madison, Ind. He married Sarah Thornberry Grover in Danville, Ky, 1794. 'They had 4 children, the eldest dying quite young.'
Ann Parker Paul b. March 18, 1799 in Harden Co, Ky., m. William Hendricks, the 2nd Gov. of Indiana. Ann died Sept. 12, 1887. Both buried in Fairmount Cem. Madison, Ind.
John Peter Paul b. Dec. 23, 1800 in Greene Co, Ohio, d. Sept. 30, 1835 Corydon, Ind., m. Eliza Meek. Both buried in Fairmount Cem. Madison, Ind.
Sarah Grover Paul, b Mar. 21, 1802 Greene Co, Ky. died Sept. 14, 1877, m. 1)Dr. Robert Craven, 2)Dr. Samuel Mackerness Goode, 3)Rev. Benjamin C. Stevenson. All are buried in Fairmount Cem. Madison, Indiana.
Sarah Thornberry Grover is d/o Josias and Mary Anderson Grover, of Baltimore, Maryland.
