Dear Betty, I was just looking over these postings.I can not remember if we have been in touch about this conversation lately or not.You were very RIGHT about the daughter born to Abraham Paul(III) and Amelia, in 1826, being Dicey Ann, that married Neil Mc Duffie. I have never been able to find anything on that C. Paul Stokes born in NC 1826 that was in that census I found for Martha.
Any way a cousin contacted me and sent me the will of a man named "James Bullard" he had a daughter "Dicey Ann Bullard" the will was witnessed by Abraham and Stephen Paul.Abraham (III) was married to her.I am not sure how many of the children belong to her instead of Amelia but I suspect at least Samuel J. Paul b. 1817 - (his daughter is named Dicey Ann) through Dicey Ann, b. 1826, its possible I guess, the older ones could have been Dicey Ann Bullards too, never seen anything really on Amelia!!!
Well let me hear from you!!
Your Cousin
