Dear Carole, Here is a list of the "William Paul" line that you are connected to.
William Paul born 1660 died 1744 Northampton North Carolina, I have his will abstract.
Abraham Paul (I) birthdate unknown ( some say 1680-1720 I have no documention of the date or place)
he was married to Amanda E.Forrest and they lived at Thompsons Creek by 1742, in Craven Co. South Carolina (now near present day Robeson Co. NC)
Abraham diedOctober 9 of 1752, I have his will. They had 5 children. Land Grants in 1747 and 1749
Abraham Paul(II)born 1742, Craven Co.in South Carolina, he married Amelia in 1763 in Robeson County, NC. His will is dated in 2-20-1801, but it was not probated until 1820, I assume that is when he died, He received land grants in 1763, 1764,1782. Abraham and Amelia had 6 children including William Isham Paul born 1766.
William Isham Paul was born 1766 his will is dated 1820 but was not probated until 1829 when I assume he died. His wife was only called "Wife" in his will and I do not know her name. They lived and died in Robeson County North Carolina. They married in abt. 1786.William Isham Paul and his wife had 8 children, including Isham Paul born 1791, he is the one married to Mourning Braswell.
I hope this helps you.The math alone should prove that we ARE NOT related to John Paul Jones. John Paul Jones was born 1747 his brother William in abt. 1724 much to late to have 5 generations in just 67 yr.s, to 1791 when your Isham was born, not to mention all of the documents that we have that prove we were in America at the latest by 1680.
Love,
Mary
