Dear Cousins,
I don't mean to be the fly in the ointment, but how do you figure that the Abraham Paul line could be connected to the line of John Paul Jones. The William Paul that you refer to died in 1744 in Northhampton County, in North Carolina, Abraham Paul (I) married to Amanda E. Forrest died in 1752, in Craven County, North Carolina, they were the parents to Abraham (II) that was married to Amelia, Abraham (III) was married to an Amelia also, and Dicey Ann Bullard.
I would love to be connected to such a famous relative but the math just doesn't work. This William Paul and his two brothers were in Virginia in the mid-1600's, about 100 years before the line containing John Paul Jones even got here.
Like I said I just can't see a connection, please correct me if I am wrong, I would love to see some documention of this.
With Love to all,
Mary Paul Barrett
