We have a SEBRA PAUL born abt.1802 (could have been 1812) in England, married to THOMAS LUMBARD, (also a native of England). According to census, they had at least two children: JOHN LUMBARD (m. ESTHER GUY) and AMELIA LUMBARD, before leaving England to immigrate to Illiois.Sebra's husband, Thomas, acquired land in DuPage Co. Illinois in 1844; also land in Kendall Co. Illinois.Thomas' obituary stated he was a "pioneer settler" of Kendall Co.Other known children of this couple were EMMA LUMBARD, who married JOSEPH HOLDERMAN; and SAMUEL J. LUMBARD, who became an attorney in Lombard, DuPage Co, Illinois. (note different spelling of surname and town name)An interesting side note:John's daughter married into the WOOLLEY & MEACHAM family, also of Kendall Co. - some of whom were from Somersetshire, England.I just visited the cemetery and took photos of the gravestone for Sebra Paul Lumbard and her husband Thomas Lumbard.Sebra being such an unusual name, I wonder if our PAULs might be cousins?
