Susy, there is an article re: John Paul Jones in the January 1975, Page 15, of the Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine and a great picture of him on Page 14 from the collections of the Library of Congress. There is a picture of his crypt at the U.S. Naval Academy. I feel certain this article was well researched. Also, I have a letter from the Dept. of the Navy, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland with copies from several pages of a book "Some Relations of John Paul Jones"author noted as R. C. Reid. There is a reference (perhaps from which the info was abstracted) "Transactions of Dumfriesshire and Galloway Natural History and Antiquarian Society, 3rd Series, Volume 24 (1945-46). In December 1980 issue of Smithsonian magazine there is a great article by Nicholas Dean.I am descended from Andrew Paul and Deborah McRae/McRee.He was born 1764 in Scotland and became a US citizen Nov. 1806 in SC. Do you have info on this Paul line? Hope my ref. are of interest to you. Virginia Paul Bastedo
