I find you message about the 1871 census interesting. Our Paul family lived in Woodland area of Isle Abbotts parish (which is close to Fivehead in Somersetshire) when the 1841 census was taken.Have you looked at the 1861 census and found Pauls as well?
Our George Paul and his nine children left England for Illinois in America and were there when the 1850 census was taken. The wife that went with him apparently was mother of the last eight children, but not the first child.
We are interested in finding out if the other Paul families in Isle Abbotts remained there after 1841.
1.William Paul married Lydia Newton in 1830.Their children included Henry, Charles, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Sebra, Thomas, Susannah, Rebecca, Joseph, Anna, and John. Some of these died as children.
2.James Paul married Sarah Paul in 1817.Their children included Elizabeth, John, and George.
We are also interested in finding out if William or James may be a brother to George.
