Dear Mark, I FOUND IT!!!! It did come from John and Emylie Foster. He says : Joseph Dougalas Foster, Sr. bought land in Cummings Ga. in 1839, in 1845 his widow Mary Ann Paul Foster is listed inprobate court as settling his estate. Mary Ann Foster is listed in the 1850, 1860 & 1870 Forsyth County Georgia census, she is listed as being born abt. 1801 in SC. Johns ggrandfather Joseph D. Foster Jr. was her third son, he served in the Mexican War 1848-49 as a private in Calhouns Mounted Inf. , was in Vera Cruz at the end of fighting, He also was Capt. of Co. E 22nd Ga. Vol. Inf. Confederate Army and captured at Gettysberg. He was a widower when the war started and his mother Mary Ann, kept his three small children til he returned from war in 1865. children:Layfette Lumpkin Foster- he went to Tx. and when he died in 1901, he was president of A&M College, and is buried on the campus of this school. Henry Iverson Foster( Johns grandfather), and Millie Malinda Foster....... Layfette Lumpkin Foster, also served three terms in the Texas House of Representives, and was speaker, his last term, he was not an educator, his A&M position was political. I hope this helps, please forgive me for being so unorganized, my computer crashed awhile back and I lost my FTM file, it had over 1200 names. Now I have been going through all my hard copies when I have needed something and have made a mess of them, LOL !!! Hopefully I will get it all together again soon !!! Mary
