Dear Betty, I "believe" that Jeanett Paul is the first wife of Abraham Paul(IV), Abraham had 6 children with his first wife, between 1818 and 1829, they had one son and five daughters. By 1850 Abraham (IV) was living in Conecuh County Alabama married to Nancy, b. 1816 in Georgia, they also had 6 children(1846-1857, 3 girls, 3 boys). Sense Mary Paul and Rebecca McLaughlin are listed as heirs in the Silas Paul probate I conclude that they are the daughters of Abraham (IV), Everyone listed in that probate are "Known" children or grand children of Abraham (III). LOOK at Abraham(III)'s siblings, William... we have a list of his heirs from his will, none are mentioned in the probate, I have no info on Patsy, b.1767, Stephen..... he left property to Florah and Martha..... his brother Abrahams daughters... Elias, b. 1779, left the Carolinas about 1812, he marriedMary Susannah Miller, they had 5 daughters and lived their lives in Sumner County Tenn. That leaves Silas's probate and everything was split by his brother Abrahams children. I also believe that Rebecca McLaughlin married Archibald McLean. Let me hear your thoughts, A cousin sent me a copy of a family tree, it shows Abraham (IV)'s first 6 children(no name of first wife) with only one daughters name Rutha mentioned only sex and year for the others. The tree had Abraham (IV)'s other 6 children by Nancy and followed the line to the present day. Early on in my research I was told of an Abraham that left his family, it had to be Abraham(IV). Write again soon!!! MPB
