Mary,
D.W. Paul (Dight?) was bondsman on the marriage between Margaret Trawick and Sampson B. Thompson on 28 February 1848 in Robeson County.
Some of these are really reaching for a connection, but here goes:the Jennett Paul on the 1850 census is living with Mary Paul, Rebecca MCLAUCHLIN, and Arch MCLEAN.Peter D. Trawick was bondsman for the marriage between Neill McLean and Jennett McLauchlin 22 February 1841 in Robeson County. So there is a definite Trawick-McLauchlin-McLean-Paul connection somewhere!(Rebecca McLean, wife of Archibald, is named in Silas Paul's probate record.Could she be the Rebecca McLauchlin who was living with Jennett Paul and Arch McLean?Maybe they got married?)
ALSO, in (1766)William Paul's will (dated 1820, probated 1829) he mentions his daughter Elizabeth BRAEZEL.On 16 December 1804 in Robeson County there was a marriage bond between Henry Trawick and Margret Brasel (a spelling variation of Braezel?).The witness on the marriage bond was Sion Alford, Justice of the Peace.Sion Alford was also one of the executors of William Paul's estate.Another possible Paul-Trawick connection.
I'll keep looking--have not found a marriage between Elizabeth Paul and anyone named Braezel yet.
The search continues!
Betty
