Dear Shelley, Wiley Paul is the son of Abraham Paul Jr.(III) and Amelia, Abraham was born 1764 and married Amelia in 1795, they lived in the Fayette District of Robeson Co. NC, Abraham (II)or Sr. was born 1742 in Craven Co. SC, later became NC. and also was married to a woman named Amelia they married in 1763 they lived in Robeson Co. Abraham (I) was married to Amanda Forrest(Amey) and according to his will probated 1752, he lived in Craven Co. SC, Thompson Creek..... Lumberton area, according to the Annuls of Ashpole he was the oldest white settler in that area. Abraham (I)'s parents were William and Elizabeth Paul, I was "told" that they sailed from Illminster England in 1685, I have not seen anything to confirm that, I know William and Elizabeth are correct but I now believe we are from Ireland, a confirmed cousin has spoken with a woman there and she is the same line as we are, again I want to see something in black and white!!!!! Back to Wiley b.abt 1801, Robeson,NC, sense I have given you some back ground. I believe the best PROOF we have that Wiley is the son of Abraham Jr.(III) and Amelia, is Abraham (III)'s brothers will probate dated April 23, 1875 in Robeson Co. his name is Silas Paul, everyone listed in the probate is a child or grandchild of Abraham (III), Wiley is mentioned, also Silas Pauls brother Stephen left his things to his "brother Abrahams" daughters. I haven't found any evidence that Silas or Stephen married or had children. I hope this helps you, Abraham Jr.(III) and Amelia had 16 children, I believe I have the names of all but one son, children are: Abraham(IV)b.1796, Mary Ann,b.1798, William b.1799, Wiley b.1801, Thomas b.1803, John H. b.1805 (my ancestor) Florah b. 1807, Dight b.1811, Dick b.1812, SON b. 1813, Moses b. 1815, Samuel J. 1817, Martha b. 1820, Son(Elias) b.1822, Son (Rowland) b.1824, C. Paul(Catherine) b. 1826. Again thanks for making contact, if I can be of further help feel free to email me direct. Your cousin Mary Paul Barrett
