HI:
Just received the notice of your reply. Will be happy to trade what info I have.
Assume you have the Paul Family Book prepared some years back.Don't take the info in it too literally. There are mistakes.
First Robert Paul, our ancestor was born in
1822.I take this info from his death certificate which I obtained on a visit to Ireland a few years back.He died Oct 22, 1882 at the age of 60, of dropsy.
His daughter, Mary Ann Paul Spence was born Sept. 8, 1858 at Tullygrawley, Co. Antrim, which is near the small town of Cullybackey and close to Ballymena.
Samuel James Paul and Robert Lavender were neighbors, which I guess explains where Robert Paul and Mary Ann Lavender met. They grew up next door to each other in Broughdone townlane, near Broughshane.
And that is about as far back as I can go on the Pauls.Did find a record of the birth to a Samuel Paul and Elizabeth Knowles in 1822 of Patrick and a daughter.Same Samuel??I don't know.
Found a book which said William Paul was the beginning of the Paul Family in Ireland. That's where I come to a deadend.I question how he could have left Scotland and come to America and go to Ireland at the same time.If we are to go back to the John Paul Jones Family, it seems to me William must have left a wife and son in Scotland, and that son, William, later went to Ireland.
If you have been able to make the jump back to Scotland, let me know.
Which of the Spence Family is your husband descended from.Agnes Spence Prussman lived in Chicago where I did and we visited with her from time-to-time.Even visited her out in California.
Look forward to hearing from you again.
