My late aunt spent much effort trying to prove our John Paul "Jones" link. She thought brother Williams was link but later disproved it.She then thought our common ancestor was John Paul "Jones" grandfather. My aunt dug up so much information that she was spent a thank you from someone at Annapolis, I think for clearing up the grandfather name or occuption. If you are interested, I'll look for the information.
To my line:
John Paul b. 1790 in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, d. 16 Oct 1870 and is buried in Grand Rapids, MI.He was an estate gardener in Scotland and my aunt had a letter of recommendation for John as a gardener that he brought from Scotland. His wife was Anges McMurry or Munn.Son James A. Paul b. 23 May 1822 in Kirkbean, Kirkcudbrigh, Shire, Scotland, d. 4 May 1901, Big Rapids, MI m. Elisabeth McCreath, 1849.
My aunt was making many breakthrus with this line at the time of her passing.Any information you have is deeply appreciated.
