PATTONS IN MARYLAND ca 1800
There were so many Patton's in VA-especially Augusta County-that it seems a nightmare to try to follow them all. The one difference I have in my line is that there was one who was from Maryland. I have a Thomas Patton b-1783 in Maryland. He married Eliz Jane Swords who was b-1790 in PA. Father was Edward Swords and mother was Nancy. Thomas and Eliz married 16 May 1811 in Augusta County (where else?) VA. They had children of John (why not-there were only a million others named John) b-1812 in VA (married Francis Turnipseed b-1837 (I wish I could find more on the Turnipseed family-five Patton brothers married Turnipseeds.). George Patton b-1813 m-Jenetta Turnipseed 19 Oct 1835 in Augusta County-Father Daniel Turnipseed and mother Catherine Peters. Thomas Jefferson Patton b-1815 in VA married Margaret Turnipseed b-1812 in VA sister to Jenetta above. William Patton b-11 May 1819 in VA. Married Cassandra Ann Turnipseed-most likely sister to the above. Edward Sword Patton b-9 Jul 1821 in Staunton VA. Married Jenetta Lohr whose father was Chritian Lohr. Attison who married a Stewart, Henry, Jane who married a Bill Morgan, Attison who married a Turnipseed. Margaret who married a Farris and A Charles Addison who married Elizabeth Stewart and lived most of his life in McLean County IL The others were in McLean at some time and went to other places-mostly NW MO.Now I would like to know as much about any Patton who was born, lived or died or passed through Maryland. Maybe I can latch onto one of them.
