I am looking for information regarding the children of Thomas Patton, son of Samuel Patton. My direct line is linked back to Buncombe County in the 1830's. A William Patton (born ~ 1810 )whom was living in Buncombe County in 1840 and is believed to be related to Thomas Patton on page 140 of the 1840 census. William is listed on page 141. William's only son was named Thomas and served in the civil war (4th East Tn Cav), and shows that he was born in 1836 in Buncombe County. William and his family moved to North Georgia (Union County) before 1850, and was found in Polk County TN in 1860. Thomas the son of William died while working in the copper mines in 1878. any information on these Patton's would be appreciated.
