Bertha Ann Smither Patton, passed away on September 9, 2009.
Bertha and George Harmon Patton just recently celebrated
their 51st wedding anniversary. She was a member of Mt.
Olive Baptist Church for 29 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret
Smither; brothers, Bill Smither, Leon Smither, Robert
Smither, and Tom Smither.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Harmon
Patton; daughter, Sharon (Scott) Flenniken; son, Eddie
Patton; grandchildren, Shelby and Sydney Flenniken; and
several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the
nurses and staff at Brakebill Nursing Home for all of
their kind care and words.
A visitation will be held tonight from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.,
with the funeral service Friday, September 11, 2009, at
7 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home.
Burial is on Saturday at 2 p.m., at Highland South
Cemetery. Dr. Deron Cobb and Brother Ken Lovelace will be
officiating the services.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Mt.
Olive Baptist Church "Mission House Fund". If you have any
questions please call the Highland South Funeral Home.
