I find this quite interesting. The Wilsons come into play in my Patton line, too, but only indirectly. Dr. Jacob Woltz and his wife had seven children, the fourth being Emeline Woltz.Dr. Jcob and his wife are buried in the Methodist Cemetery at Fincastle, VA.Emeline m. Thomas Wilson, at Fincastle. Within a few months, they removed to Highland County, OH.Later, Jesse Woltz, a reknown cabinet maker, moved, with his family, to Bourneville, OH, where Jesse died, in 1839. His wife soon returned to Fairfield County, OH, probably to live with her older daughter. His second daughter, Margaret, was 18 years old when he died. Her younger sister, Henrietta, was seven. It is almost certain that Margaret came to Sinking Spring (Highland Co.) after her father's death, to live with her first cousin, Emeline Woltz Wilson and her husband, Thomas.Henrietta may have come with her. There, my G-G-Grandfather, Samuel Patton met and married Margaret. When she died, in 1856, he married her younger sister, Henrietta. This is a roundabout way to explain how the Wilsons became indirectly involved in my Patton family tree.
