Thanks, Shirley. My John Patton married Jane (aka Jean) Marlin in 1781. He lived in Lancaster County, PA at least from 1776 until his death in 1810, serving two terms as a captain in the Lancaster Co militia during the Revolutionary War. His children were Mary, Jane, Cunningham, Ann, John, Eliza and William. I think we just have to recognize that the Patton family loved the name John and used it at least once in every generation.
