Bill, In my Muskingham County section of my files I found the following and you may have this information already but if not now you do: Patton, John, Adams Co. Ohio or VA by Mrs. William F Pansing (Jane King Dickey), descendant, Cincinnati, Ohio born 1754, northern Ireland; d 10/?/1809. His wife kept house in Ohio and left a will dated 7/25/1819 in Adams Co., Ohio. Soldr served as Pvt in Capt. Nathan Reid's Company, 14th VA Regt, commanded by Col Charles Lewis. He enlisted Jan. 10, 1777 for 3 years. He was reported on the company muster roll Nov. 1777 "sick at hospital and on company muster roll for Dec. 1777 He also served in Capt. Thomas Gaddis' Company, VA Mil. His name appears on an undated list of officers and privates under the command of Capt. Thomas Gaddis at Ft. Liberty, commencing Sept. 9, 1776 and ending Jan. 1777. SAR No 14877; DAR Natl No. 454160 I marked this Roster Soldiers of the American Revolution who lived in State of Ohio I told you about the book "A christian Educator". It does tell about their children and grandchildren and what they did. Grace the first born married a physician, Dr. J. R. Moore and this couple spent some years in Egypt where Dr. Moore was on the staff of Assiut Hospital until for health reasons they returned to America. John Knox, who bears the name of his illustrious father, served as a YMCA Secretary. He married Mary Comin, a daughter of a minister of the United Presbyterian Church. Don Patton held pastorates in 2 of the churches of the UP denomination. His wife is Ann Thompson. Geneva, the second daughter married Rev. John J. McIlvaine D.D. Robert Nathaniel occupied for a few years the Chair of Old Testament literature in Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and married Ruth Kelley (Ruth was still living in 1996 when our daughter graduated from Muskingum College and was and Ruth was living on campus in a house.) My Grandmother also attended Muskingum College while Rev. Montgomery was President. My Dad's middle name is Knox. I wonder were she got that??? Barb Notify Administrator about this message?
