Researcher Janice Doughty found Henry and Jane Whitlock (nee Pattison) on the English 1881 Census,
living in 6 Bank Street, Guisborough in York in England. There was Henry an
Iron Miner 35, with wife Jane (nee Pattison) 29, and children Charles 7,
Mary Elizabeth 5, Sarah Jane 3 and Frederick 1. Two more children were born
to the couple before the sailed for Australia and they were Carlotte Esther
born 1882 and Emily May born 1884.
The Whitlock family arrived in Moreton Bay on board the "Chyebassa" on 3rd
June 1885 . What is very sad is that Henry Whitlock only lived for four
years after the family's arrival in Queensland, he died in 1889. However, she
cannot find what happened to his Widow Jane. Janice is hoping that SKS, could
look at the Electrol Rolls to find out where Jane Whitlock was living, and
if possible if she remarried and when she died. If anyone has connections to Jane Pattison, I would be interested to hear from them.
