Mary Patterson nee Smith nee Barbour,Mary married George Smith 1st May 1830 at St.John's,Newcastle and had 2 sons,Thomas and John after Georges's death Mary Smith married Thomas Patterson on 26 June 1843 at the Cathedral of St Nicholas. Subsequent censuses indicate the following household details 1851 Patterson Smith Thomas Mary[spouse] Daniel 6 years Thomas 20 years Jane 4 years [4/7/1846] John 11 years. 1861 Patterson Smith Thomas 69 years Stonemason Mary[Spouse]Daniel 16 Jane 14 Thomas 30 John 21 In1867 John Smith married Grace Dixon atWindynook. 1881 Mary61y Widow lived with Thomas 40 her son at 83 Gladstone Terrace WindyNook Heworth 1891 Patterson-Daniel m Euphmenia Hebron in Dec 1862 at the time of this census they were living at 13 Wallis St Windy Nook Mrs Mary Patterson was living with the family. The family were Daniel[46] Euphemia[47] Mary[81] Daniel[17] Robert[15] Jane[12] Edmund J[8] I live in Australia ,my GG Grandfather was John Smith who brought his family to Aust in the early 1880's.John is mentioned in the History of Windy Nook Co Op 50 year history.Jubilee Souvenir[1874:1924] I have a photo of Family taken during the 1st world of John Smith's son in law when he was on leave he then went back to France and died at the Battle of Polygon Wood and is buried in France. In the photo is a Mr +Mrs George Robson with 3 young children and Grandmother Grace Nomay? I cant quite make out Grace's surname I'm hoping this may jog someones memory. I have more information if you are interested.
