Hello,
Looking for any information concerning the Patteson family being related to the Pettyjohn family from Amherst County, Va. It is thought that the Pettyjohn family left Amherst County, Va. with William Pettyjohn and migrated to Buckingham County, Va. near Walker's Ford around 1778. My GGgrandfather was named John Patteson Pettyjohn and his son was named Walker Pettyjohn. The family shows back up in 1796 in Amherst County, Va. Most court records for Buckingham County, Va were destroyed by fire.
