I am descended from Henry Embry and Martha Patteson who were married ca 1722, Brunswick, VA.
Jeanette K. B. Daniels, in her "The Embry Book", shows Henry Embry married Martha Patterson ca 1722. She died 1772 in Brunswick Co., VA [inventory date.]
John Bennett Boddie in his “Historical Southern Families”, Pacific Coast Publishers, Vol. X, page 107, states that the wife of Col. Henry Embry is said to have been Martha Patteson, the daughter of Jonathan Patteson of New Kent Co., [Will of 1767].
I am attempting to find information about Jonathan Patteson of New Kent Co., VA. I would appreciate any information or suggestions that would help me determining the ancestry of the Martha Patterson who married Henry Embry.
