Allen DeGraffenried Patteson was the son of Regina DeGraffenried and Charles Patteson. Charles and Regina moved from Virginia to Kentucky in 1799. Allen DeGraffenried married 1st Juliet Miller, and they had 8 children, one of whom was my gggg-grandfather, Oliver Bomar Patteson. After Juliet died, A.D. married Mary Abrell. In 1851, he sold his property in Adair County, KY, built a flatboat, and took his family to Texas. Upon arrival, all were killed by either unknown disease or Indians (depending upon who's telling the story), except for daughter Bettie and a slave named Nancy. Nancy got word back to relatives, who came for the two, and Bettie was raised in Kentucky.
I do not have any information on Regina D. Patteson except that she married William Baker. However, I would be glad to share any information I have you might find useful, and would like to know if you have any further information on the Patteson and allied lines.
