Hi Betty,
I may be able to help you a bit but I don't know for sure if there is a connection. My g-grandfather was Henry Clark Patterson b. 1861 in Schuyler Co., MO.I have a copy of his obituary which states that his parents were Wm. and Lydia Patterson. His obituary lists as survivors, brother John C. Patterson and sisters, Mrs. Martha Leedom and Mrs. Rachel Murfin, all of Queen City.Other info. seems to indicate that there had been brothers George Washington Patterson, Thomas Patterson and another sister Lydia E. Patterson. The 1870 census of Salt River Twp., Schuyler Co., MO lists the following:
Patterson, William48Farmerb. Ohio
Patterson, Lydia45KeepingHouseb. Va
Patterson, John C.20b. Illinois
Patterson, George W. 18b. Illinois
PattersonThomas15b. Illinois
Patterson, Lydia E.13b. Missouri
Patterson, Rachel9b. Missouri
Patterson, Henry C.7b. Missouri
I have been looking for William and Lydia Patterson for a couple of years now, without any real success. There are many William Pattersons married to Lydia and without knowing a few more details about them, they are hard to pinpoint.I don't really know if this info is of any use to you but with two of us searching the same names in the same place, maybe one of us will get lucky. Please let me know if you find anything which links us together.
Terry
