Hi Pamela,
I know this is a very old post and you may have your answers by now.The cemetery on Goose Island Road is the Sharp (Sharpe) Family Cemetery. There is a John Patterson B 1815 D 1872 with a Malissa Patterson next to him.Malissa maiden name was probably Sharp, Sluder or Bates since everyone in this cemetery is related by blood or marriage.I am related to most of the people buried at the Sharp Family Cemetery. Clerissa Hice Sharp is my 3rd Great Grandmother.
The cemetery you are talking about with George Watkins is on Whitepath Road and is known as the Watkins Family Cemetery, my wife's family. This cemetery is in bad shape and only 3-4 stones can be read.
Also in Gilmer County is Underwood Cemetery and Old Cherry Log Cemetery which has many Pattersons and Watkins. Most of these Patterson and Watkins are related to my wife.
Another cemetery with several Patterson graves is Lebanon Church located in Fannin County about 6 miles west of Blue Ridge. Most of these Patterson's are a different group than the ones at Underwood, Old Cherry Log, Sharp or Watkins cemeteries.
Then you have the Patterson Family Cemetery located just inside the Georgia Line, less than 1/2 mile from Polk County Tennesse, high upon a hill that can easily be missed. This cemetery has over 100 graves. There is a John B. Patterson in this cemetery with a birth date of 1836 and an unknown death date. His Wife was Martha born 1844.The information shows her parents were James B and Ester M. Nicholson Patterson but that may be incorrect. Her maiden name may have been Martha Elizabeth Allen because the information documented by the Fannin Historical Society lists her name as Martha A. E. Patterson-Patterson.
Mark
