William PATTERSON is said to have been in the War of 1812, so probably born in the late 1700's. He moved his family from Ohio to Anderson, Madison Co.IN in abt. 1830. His son Phillip, born in OH went to the former Ohio Medical College, graduating in 1846. Phillip practiced in Fairmount, IN until 1860, moving to Frankton, IN to practice after his wife- Mary Baldwin died. Both he and his father are buried in Madison Co.,IN. Phillip's son- Joseph William Patterson, M.D. also practiced in Fairmount, IN. Any ancestral data would be helpful
