Thomas Patterson of NH m. Abigail Pickering

As noted in my original posting, Charles Brewster's book, "Rambles About Portsmouth" and the Pickering genealogy each say that Abigail Pickering (1729-1830) married Thomas Patterson. Their older daughter, Dorothy Patterson, married Timothy Gerrish in Portsmouth in 1780.Their younger daughter, Mary "Polly" Patterson, married Richard Low(e) in Portsmouth in 1784.
Tax records from Portsmouth list Thomas Patterson or Pattison from 1754 through 1773.That later year is the last entry for him in the Portsmouth records. From 1761 on he is called "Capt. Thomas Patterson/Pattison," so perhaps he served in the colonial military.
There is a Londonderry, NH, family of Pattersons, but this Thomas does not appear to be connected to them.
Seeking any further information on this Thomas Patterson.
