The Social Security application for Phoebe Alice Patterson reveals her parent's names as Roach Patterson and Martha Jane Holder.
I can find no evidence of a Roach Patterson on any record on ancestry or family seach. I presume it might have been a middle name. And, I feel it might be a surname of his mother or grandmother, etc.
Alice Patterson was born August 1884 in Paris, Lamar County Tx according to her application. She was married more than once, but the one record I find (and is the one connected to the family research I am doing) was to Wm T Cayton in 1907 in Hopkins County, Tx. I do not find this Alice in 1900. She is in Hopkins Co& married in 1910. In 1920 she has moved to Hugo, Choctaw Co. Okla. In 1930 still in Choctaw Co., Okla.
Hope someone can help with this puzzle.....
