A William Patterson was involved in some land transactions in the 1770s in Tryon Co NC with David Crockett. One of these transactions involved Patterson lending Crockett money, with land being used as collateral. Sons of David Crockett were at Kings Mt and one of his grandsons was named "Patterson Crockett". So, one possibility is that David Crockett was married to a Patterson. I have looked at some records for Arthur Patterson, but I did not find a William Patterson. Does William fit anywhere in Arthur's line?
