Researching Pattersons and Bettis of Franklin Co. North Carolina
Smith Patterson B/ UNK could be brother to Young and Jane
Young Patterson b/ 14 Mar 1799 m/ Mary Ann Pugh
Tillman Patterson b/ 1761 on 1840 Census of Pensioners
of Rev age 79 Living in Household of James Dent
James Dent married Jane Patterson b/ 1804 Franklin and died bef. 1861.
Sarah Patterson b/ abt 1760 married William Bettis b/ abt 1760 migrated to Wilson Co. Tn then Shelby Co. Tn where William Died after 1820.
Son; Tillman Patterson Bettis b 6 Oct 1788 Franklin Co. NC
M/ Sarah Carr 10 May 1809 Wilson Co., Tennessee. migrated to Shelby Co. Tn died in 1854.
Its possible that these Pattersons came from Prince George Co where we find a Tillman Patterson b est abt 1730.
and could be the father to Tillman Patterson of Franklin Co. NC
My feeling are that Sarah Patterson Bettis and Tillman Patterson were brother and sister father Tillman Patterson of Prince Geroge
Tillman Patterson is the father to Jane, Young and possible Smith Patterson however no real proof.
Both Young and Smith Patterson were Clerks for the Court of Peas of Franklin Co.
