This is all very true. However, these gifts were usually recorded as a deed. Also, even if not mentioned in the will, the older children, often, not always, also had to sign deeds releasing the land for sale. These are recorded in the deeds. So wills are not the only documentation I am seeking. Thanks, Brenda
