I would like to compare notes and histories with any Patterson's with roots through Knoxville in the 1800's. My ggg grandfather Marion Patterson shows up in Knoxville getting married in 1860 to Elizabeth Headrick, before that I can't find him anywhere. He died in Knoxville in 1904, his children were James Alexander(my gg grandfather), Robert Issac, John W, Joseph Franklin,Malinda,Nancy,and Nellie. Marion was 40 when he married Elizabeth in 1860, and John W. was born in 1858, so he was most likely married before that. Marion was born in Georgia according to census, as was his mom, and his dad was born in North Carolina. I'm hoping Marion moved to Knoxville because he had family there, doing everything I can to figure him out. I have some more iteresting information from this line, I have also done the DNA test through ancestry.com
