A biography of Oliver B. Patterson is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 678. Oliver B. Patterson was born, 20 Oct 1875, son of Frank B. and Mary A. (Knox) Patterson. Frank was born in NY, moved to Minnesota and later to Omaha, NE. He was a farmer. Mary A. Knox was a daughter of Charles Knox from the state of New York. Mary died in 1912. Children of Frank and Mary Patterson: Mrs. Bertha Knox (Stanton, ND), Oliver B. (Savage, MT), Alice (Mrs. Charles Hudson, Omaha, NE), Mrs. Parthenia Earnest Churchill, Pipestone, MN), Agnes (Mrs. Richard Worley, New Salem, ND), Maude (Mrs. Alfred Simard, Sidney, MT). Oliver B. Patterson spent his early life at Marshall, MN, and when old enough he went to work in a grocery store. He attended Marshall High School at age 17 and began to work steadily. Some years later he joined his brother-in-law in the grocery business in Washington DC. In 1907 he located to Montana and was employed in the store of G.D. Holleck of Glendive, MT. When Savage, MT, was organized, Oliver moved there in the spring of 1910 and became a member of the firm of Brooks and Patterson. Oliver came to own a ranch two miles south of Savage, MT, where he raised principally stock and alfalfa. On 1 Oct 1896, Marshall, MN, Oliver married Miss Tressa Ada Shake, born 13 Oct 1877, daughter of Fred and Mary (Cloves) Shake. Child of Oliver and Tressa Patterson: Mildred Arlene (Mrs. Oscar Sherman Larson, m. Jun 1928.) Article in "Billings Gazette", Billings, MT, 20 Jun 1928. Oliver B.
